This chest ascender rope device with X-Cam design can be used with combination harness or with separate sit and chest harness. When it was tested on the Tecta 11mm low stretch rope , the X-Cam ascenders were found to be 25% stronger than their most popular sharp toothed competitor, with average breaking loads up to 875 kg for X-Cams versus 535kg for the established design. X-Cam has a more advanced tooth design than traditional cams and is more suitable for industrial applications as it does not pluck the rope therefore reduces the rate of rope wear.
